Knee and Hip Replacement

Biography
Ian Holloway is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in surgery of the hip and knee. He trained in London and was a senior trainee at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. He spent a year in Australia completing two specialist hip and knee fellowships in Sydney and Melbourne.
Mr Holloway specialises in primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery, and arthroscopic surgery of the knee. His NHS appointment at Northwick Park Hospital allows him to undertake complex revision surgery, often for periprosthetic fractures (fractures around joint replacements) and for cases with significant bone loss.
He has built on his experience on the Bone Tumour Unit at Stanmore and treats patients with metastatic bone disease with an emphasis on early symptom control and aggressive rehabilitation. He uses an accelerated postoperative rehab regime to allow early mobilisation and discharge.
His research has been published in the medical literature on the subject of hip and knee surgery and he has presented at national and international meetings. He is on the teaching faculty of a number of National and International orthopaedic training courses.
